Live Resin vs Liquid Diamonds: What's the Difference?
Live resin is cannabis oil made from plants frozen right after harvest, so it keeps more of the strain's natural flavor. Liquid Diamonds blend THCa crystals, the 'diamonds', back into oil with terpenes for a stronger, cleaner pull. Both come in Jeeter carts and All-in-One vapes; the choice is mostly flavor versus intensity.

How is live resin made?
Most cannabis is dried and cured before it's processed. Live resin skips that step: the plants are frozen straight after harvest, and the oil is extracted from the frozen material. Drying and curing cost a plant some of its aromatic compounds, so starting from fresh-frozen material keeps more of the strain's own smell and taste.
That's why live resin is known as the flavor-first choice. The oil tends to taste closer to the living plant, and two live resin carts from different strains usually taste clearly different from each other. You can read more about how extracts like this are made on Wikipedia's overview of hash oil (opens in a new tab).
What are Liquid Diamonds?
THCa is the form THC takes in the raw plant, and it can crystallize into clear, glassy pieces that people call diamonds. Liquid Diamonds products separate those crystals out, then blend them back into an oil with terpenes so the result flows like a normal cart oil.
The aim is intensity with a clean finish. Where live resin leads with flavor, Liquid Diamonds lead with a stronger, smoother pull, with the terpenes providing the strain's character. THCa turns into THC when it's heated, which is what happens in a vape; Wikipedia's page on THCa (opens in a new tab) explains the chemistry.
How do they compare side by side?
| Feature | Live resin | Liquid Diamonds |
|---|---|---|
| Starts from | Plants frozen right after harvest | THCa crystals (diamonds) |
| Known for | Natural, strain-true flavor | A strong, clean pull |
| Flavor comes from | The plant's own terpenes | Terpenes blended into the oil |
| Good for | Flavor chasers, strain explorers | Experienced users who want intensity |
| Jeeter formats | Jeeter Juice, All-in-One Live Resin | Jeeter Juice, All-in-One Diamonds |
Neither one is simply better. They're two answers to the same question: do you care most about taste, or about how strong each pull feels?
Which Jeeter products use each one?
Both oils show up across the Jeeter vape range:
- Jeeter Juice: 1g cartridges for standard 510 batteries, in Liquid Diamonds and live resin strains.
- All-in-One Diamonds: ready-to-use vapes filled with Liquid Diamonds oil, battery built in.
- All-in-One Live Resin: the same ready-to-use format, filled with live resin.
- 510 Postless: cartridges built without a centre post, for standard 510 batteries.
Each product page names the oil type in its title or description, so you can filter by format first and then pick a strain.
Why does flavor change from one cart to the next?
Flavor in a cart comes from terpenes, the aromatic compounds that also give fruit, herbs and flowers their smell. In live resin, the terpenes are the plant's own, carried through from the fresh-frozen material, so the flavor shifts naturally from strain to strain and even slightly from batch to batch. In Liquid Diamonds oil, terpenes are blended back in after the crystals are separated, which tends to make each strain taste consistent.
Heat changes flavor too. Terpenes are delicate, and a high battery setting can flatten them or add a burnt edge. If a cart tastes weaker than you expected, try the lowest setting before deciding you don't like the strain. Our post on what terpenes are explains the common ones and what they smell like.
How do you read the label?
The product name usually tells you the oil type: 'Liquid Diamonds' or 'Live Resin' appears in the title of most Jeeter vapes. The label and the lab report then give you the batch details, including the measured cannabinoid content. If you want to compare two products properly, compare their lab results rather than their marketing names. Our guides to reading a cannabis label and certificates of analysis walk through both.
Which one should you choose?
If you're new to vaping or you like to taste the difference between strains, start with live resin. It's the more forgiving, flavor-led option. If you already know what you like and want a stronger pull, try Liquid Diamonds. Whichever you pick, start with one or two small puffs and wait a few minutes before taking more; effects from inhaled cannabis arrive quickly but build.
